Focus on the End Result...

As I mentioned earlier this week, recently, I have been doing tasks around the house that my wife typically does. While cutting up some fruit, earlier this week, my wife found it hard to step back and let me do the task with the method that was easiest for me. I used different knives and tools than she usually does. I quartered the fruit in a different direction than she does, and as you saw with my last post on pineapple I made a mistake. ( which I did remedy)

When it comes to marriage and life as a couple, we come from different backgrounds and life experience.  And at times we tend to focus more on whether the method is wrong or right, instead of focusing on  if we ended up the the result we wanted.

In the case at my house. When all was said and done the fruit was cut up, it was put away in the fridge in the correct containers, and most importantly the kitchen counters were returned to a clean state they were in when I started.

I have a great wife, and I only share this story with you to illustrate the point that while we all have our way of doing things, at times it is ok to let others do it their way….

My challenge for each of you is to become more aware of when you do this kind of thing in your own life. And work to celebrate the end result, instead of getting hung up on the method of getting there. ( as long as that method was legal, moral, and ethical)

You will find more peace and joy in your life as you do.
